Policing Race, Gender and Sex Work

A panel on sex work decriminalization with insights from scholar-activists, lawyers, and organizers

Join Pivot and PACE Society in so-called Toronto, on Friday, May 10th, 2024, for a panel on policing race, gender and sex work with insights from scholar-activists, lawyers, and organizers in sex workers’ rights and broader racial justice movements. This panel will offer reflections on the recent Charter challenge to the sex work laws, create a shared space to deconstruct the harms of policing that invariably impacts the lives of racialized communities, and offer Black feminist frameworks for decriminalization by connecting intersecting struggles against sex work criminalization, drug policy, policing and racial violence.
